The Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum opened a new special exhibition, SIGNATURE MOMENTS: LETTERS FROM THE FAMOUS, THE INFAMOUS, AND EVERYDAY AMERICANS, on Saturday, June 28, 2025, in the William J. vanden Heuvel Gallery of the Library and Museum. CLICK HERE for more information. The exhibit runs through May 3, 2026.

Regular Library and Museum admission applies to view the exhibit.

The Roosevelt Library and the Friends of the Poughkeepsie Public Library District will host the annual Hudson Valley History Reading Festival on Saturday, April 18, 2026. In four sessions, beginning at 10:00 a.m., authors of recently-published books on Hudson Valley history will present author talks followed by book signings in the Wallace Center. Featured authors include Joseph E. Diamond, Moira Fitzgibbons, Anthony P. Musso, and Libbie Werlau.

This is a free public event.

Memorial Day Weekend Event:
World War II Military Displays
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Location: FDR Library Great Lawn

On Saturday, May 23 and Sunday, May 24, 2026, in honor of Memorial Day Weekend, the Great Lawn in front of the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum will take on the appearance of a World War II encampment with WWII Military Displays. Period military vehicles of all sizes and soldiers in battle dress will be on hand to share their love of World War II history. Free public event.

On display will be a model M4A4 Sherman tank -- a World War II combat veteran -- assembled by Chrysler at the Detroit Tank Arsenal in December 1942. It was part of President Roosevelt's "lend-lease" program, crewed by and under the command of Great Britain's armed forces during the war. Display of the tank is courtesy of the Fourth Armored Division Historical Preservation Group.

Celebrate America’s Independence at RevCon 2026!

Hosted by the FDR Presidential Library on Saturday, June 13, 2026, Dutchess County continues its multi-year commemoration of America’s semiquincentennial with RevCon 2026. Reenactors from the Brigade of the American Revolution will be on hand to demonstrate military camp life, tactics, weapons demo and to answer questions about life in Revolutionary America. Examine Dutchess County’s role in the war at the accompanying history fair. Pose for photos with Dutchess Tourism's "Commander in Cheers" and hear stories of Dutchess County's revolutionary heroics as told by a pint-sized, augmented reality version of George Washington, named Tiny George.
