Museum Docent: Guide our visitors through our special temporary exhibitions.
Museum Greeter: Welcome museum visitors and provide general information about the exhibition galleries.
Archives Aid: Assist with tasks related to collection maintenance, digitization,
data entry, filing and typing.
The internship program at the FDR Library is a unique educational experience for students of varied backgrounds and interests. Internship opportunities can include the development of educational programs and materials for students and teachers of all grade levels; computer projects to help streamline the research process; public relations; archival research; the development of exhibits; and a variety of other activities.
Students who have interned at the FDR Library over the past few years have had the opportunity to work with the "raw stuff" of history. They realize and appreciate the rare privilege that is theirs to work with the same materials as have well known historians such as Arthur Schlesinger, Jr., Doris Kearns Goodwin, and Geoffrey Ward. Roosevelt Library interns have gone on either to the work place or to pursue advanced degrees in a variety of fields. Their experience at the Roosevelt Library has broadened their historical perspective, and given them an opportunity to work in the creative process of history, while encouraging them to learn more about Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt.
DIGITAL CURATION INTERNSHIP
Henry Morgenthau, Jr. Holocaust Collections Project (Spring 2019):
The FDR Presidential Library and its non-profit partner the Roosevelt Institute seek a Digital Curation Intern to assist with the Henry Morgenthau, Jr. Holocaust Collections Project. The Intern will work in the Archives of the FDR Library in Hyde Park, NY, assisting with digital capture, metadata cataloging, and digital asset management for unique Holocaust-related archival material drawn from across the Library's holdings. Candidates should have a professional interest in digital imaging, metadata practices, information storage and retrieval systems, and digital workflows. Current information studies students and recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Term: January to May, 2019; 160 hours; stipend: $2,400 ($15.0 per hour). Work schedule is flexible with some telework possible.

ARCHIVES INTERNSHIP (SUMMER 2019):
The Roosevelt Library seeks a summer intern to work in its Archives Department during the summer of 2019. Duties will include arrangement, description, and digitization of historic documents and photographs; metadata entry and assistance with preservation of collections.
The Library offers a limited number of paid internships in the summer and occasionally offers internships for credit during the spring and fall. Summer interns are chosen by an application process. Current undergraduates, recent graduates, and individuals pursuing advanced degrees are encouraged to apply.
The deadline for summer internship applications is March 15.
